The Romelu Lukaku train at Chelsea seems to have sailed through, and it doesn’t look like the Belgian will be returning to the club anytime soon. Lukaku is currently on a season-long loan at Inter Milan but reports suggest the Italian club are keen to extend.
Lukaku’s long-awaited return to Chelsea did not go as planned at all, and he left unfortunate circumstances behind to join the club he left to join Chelsea. Inter Milan now wants to keep him.
The Belgian scored last night for Inter in the Champions League.
According Gazetta Dello Sport in Italy, Inter Milan have reached a verbal agreement with Chelsea to extend Romelu Lukaku’s loan deal until at least next season. The loan deal currently lasts for a year but Inter want to extend it.

Chelsea are unlikely to want Lukaku back at the club. The Belgian is not a typical guy Graham Potter the attacker, and with Christophe Nkunku coming in and Chelsea already targeting other attackers, it looks like a decision has already been made on Lukaku.
The player himself has always said he wants to return to Inter, so in truth, it seems like an easy deal for both sides. Inter will most likely sign him on loan for another season and then put together a package to buy.
Not the end Lukaku would have wanted for his Chelsea career, but one that makes sense.
