Thursday Purse-Day!

Hi everyone.  I hope everyone is having a great week.  Snow free maybe?  It’s snow free here in Dee Eff Dub.  COLD COLD COLD, but snow free!  Whee!   gives me the chance to wear all my cowls and gloves and such.  :)

Here is this week’s bag!

hmm...seems plain doesn't it? what's the big deal about this bag? it's what's inside that counts! NETBOOOOOOK!

What’s so special about this bag?  nothing really.   it’s quite dull and boring.  Plain, black bag. it’s what’s inside that counts. :)   I got a new netbook this week.  big deal you say.  yep.  big whoopie.  but my netbook is so purty!! LOOK AT IT!

wheeeeeeeeeeeee

you are jealous of me….admit it! hahahah!

I’ve got a few FO”s to show off.

ProjectOne Skein Koigu Mitts
Yarn: ONline Supersocke 6-ply
Amount Used:  about 1/3 of a skein
Color:  1092 – new wave
Needle Size:  US 4 / 3.5 mm
Date Started: Dec 1, 2009
Date Finished:  Dec 3, 2009

Botgurl has written a fabulous one-skein koigu pattern. :)  very easy, satisfying.  Since the yarn I used is 6-ply, i had to adjust the numbers for the thicker yarn/needles.  You can ask me for my notes if you really want to know :)   I didnt plan on the striping to match up so well either.  I just cast on after I cast off on the thumb on the left glove and the stripes are almost perfectly matched.  whee!

Now for the more domestic diva set…

These were ridiculously easy to do.  I made these for the upcoming Simpatico Christmas party coming up on Monday.  We are required to bring one handmade gift, and this is mine.   i need to find some purple or pink gloves so I can make a pair for me. :)

Date Started: Dec 9, 2009
Date Finished:  Dec 9, 2009

NanC emailed today and asked if we could help her complete a project goal.  I had nothing to do today and i woke up ridiculously late, so I made two of these while watching Mannequin on Comedy Central.   these knit up fast, but i didn’t enjoy the first sweater at all.  I’m not sure why.  too fiddly.  Maybe it was the glove needles I was using.  they were stabbing me in the hand as I knit it.  haahah.  They don’t take long to make.  So ….Mannequin ….I used to LOVE this movie when I was a kid.  I’m not sure why.  Entertaining I guess for a 10 yr old.  that movie is 22  years old now.  how old do i feel?  hahaha.  I haven’t seen that movie since I was a kid.  We had a bootleg copy we watched all the time.  Watching that movie as an adult…I realize how STUPID it was!  I asked my brother earlier “why in the hell did we love this movie?”  then I corrected myself.  I know why we loved it. we were stupid kids.  why did ADULTS like this movie???  it’s so LAME!! :)

Collaborative project….

ProjectLog Cabin Baby Blanket
YarnPlymouth Encore
Amount Used:  about a quarter skein of each color
Color: green/grey / yellow orange (i’m too lazy to look up color numbers right now)
Needle Size:  US 6 / 4.0 mm
Date Started: Dec 8, 2009
Date Finished:  Dec 8, 2009

The gals and I are working on a blanket for one of the girls that works at the Panera we hang out at every Thursday. She’s having a baby on Feb 14th and we decided to team up and make her a blankie.  I love this log cabin blanket and i thought it would be cool and easy to do this blanket w/ each of us just doing one square.  The square moved much faster than i expected.   Most everyone is finished w/ their squares.  Just need to seam it together, do the edging and then do a backing. :)  I’ve never done a backing before.  I’m excited about this.  :)  Can’t wait!

Current project….

Working on some leg warmers for me. :)  I had this weird fantasy in my head that I would have them done within hours and be able to wear them during the current freeze while wearing a denim mini skirt and some opaque stockings (as in the photo of the pattern).  yeah…i got distracted w/ all the other knitting that I’m barely done with a couple of inches on this project.  sigh.  I am starting to get scared that I don’t have enough yarn for this.

legwarmers

so far so good though.  the yarn is super yummmy and the color is so purty.

have a good weekend everyone :)
