Thursday Purse-Day!!

Hi all!  I hope you guys are having a great week so far.  It’s Thursday!  one of the best days of the week.  Why?  well, for me I get to see my knit grrls! 😀  WHEE!

Here is this week’s bag

badge holder inside...just a few of many to come

This little case is for holding my badges.  I’ve got 3 going on and I am needing to add 3 more to my stack within the next month.  My id holder can’t hold that many cards and I”m so paranoid i’m going to lose one…so i just put them all in this case to keep track of them.  i pray i never lose one.  it’s such a pain to get a replacement!

I got some knitting done this week. 🙂

baby Yoda for baby venegai hey you! the back closed peeky peeky may the force be with you

Project: Seamless baby and Toddler wrap (turned into baby Yoda)
Yarn: Reynolds Cabana
Amount Used: 2.7 skeins
Color:  829 Grey
Needle Size: US 9
Date Started:  September 28, 2010
Date Finished:  October 10, 2010

making the bigger size b/c the sucker was 9 lbs 6oz when born and is sure to get gigantic.

omg i knit half the sweater and realized I was going to:

  1. run out of yarn…this stuff is discontinued and one of the ppl online that has some of this yarn that I considered asking to pay for some or trade for…i don’t like her very much. lol.
  2. this sweater was REALLLLLLLLy huge. I ripped out all the way to the armhole increases and then i ended up making size 0-6mo which was big enough for my 9 mo size doll zoe. Apparently even though I got gauge, this yarn made the sweater really huge.
  3. it took me forever to decide how to do the letters on the inside of the jacket. 🙂 i did them at first at 5-6 sts high and you really couldn’t read what it said. So i changed it to 9 sts high and it came out much better, but I didn’t get the chance to personalize it w/ the baby’s first name. oh well.

i went to the fair to look at my ribbons and eat all the fried food I could possibly eat.  🙂  I had a blast!  My friends and i ate everything we could try. 🙂  Fried butter, fried chocolate, fried frito pie….man oh man.  and i did get my big cup of root beer.  Sloshing in my stomach as we decided to leave.  hAHAhAhaH!

2010 Texas State Fair

I also am working on a jacket for someone I promised I would help her finish like 2 years ago.  EEEEEEEK!    no pics.  it’s boring and slow going.  so of course i started something for me.  a new wimple. 🙂

it’s so pretty so far. 🙂   it’s made of a cashmere blend yarn.  so soft and yummy. 🙂

ok that’s all for now!  have a great weekend everyone!

Thursday Purse-Day!

Happy Thursday everyone 🙂  I hope everyone is having a great week so far!  Fall is here!  yay!!  Hopefully it will cool down here very soon.  it’s cooled down some…but not enough to make it FALL.

This is this week’s bag!

double point needle case closed. open

isn’t it cute?  I’ve had it for ages.  I found it again when cleaning up some stuff.   There was some of my dbl points as well!  doh!! hahaha.  i like the shiny fabric on the inside. 🙂

I finished up all the baby stuff this week.   I had no patterns to work with on these hats.  I just made them on the fly.  is that the right term? haahah

chunky baby hat front right back left preemie hat front right back left

basically is the same “basic” hat over and over again. hahaha.  just cast on diff. sts depending on the weight of the yarn.

I was asked also to make a scarf and a hat for my friend’s sock monkey.  I dont have her sock monkey to show them off on…i’m hoping for a bunch of pics from her once she uses them. 🙂

sock money hat and scarf

so i’ve made a TON of progress on the Haruni!!  I finally tinked back my 24 row mistake and was able to shoot forward!  i’m 6 rows away from finishing.  wheeeeeeeeeee!!  I plan on putting beads on the bind off.  will it happen?  we’ll see. 😀    I’m hoping to have pics of it up next week.  🙂   wheeee!

Have a great weekend everyone!!

Thursday Purse-Day!

I almost forgot it was thursday b/c of labor day.  Labor day really threw me off b/c it was such a slow day at work i thought it was a saturday!  sheesh!

Here is this week’s bag!

fake burberry! WHEEE! back view on the mannequinn

This is a nice fake Burberry laptop bag.  It can be a laptop or a briefcase?  I found out I kind of need a briefcase-ish bag for work bc of some of the paperwork I have to haul home.  Who knew i had the perfect bag in my arsenal already!? 🙂   WHEEEE!!!  maybe i’ll start carrying my netbook around w/me and my stuff as a purse.  sigh.

I haven’t done that much knitting this week.  I’m finishing up all the projects I promised to make for my friend for her photography start up.  and honestly, I got a bit distracted over the weekend due to work being a bit crazy.  Labor day weekend, people decided to go into labor I guess.   I did get a couple of things done.  well, they are DONE except for the fact that they need jumbo buttons added on and I don’t have jumbo buttons in my arsenal at home.  what??? 😀

chunky green hat side view back view side view

a chunky green hat. 🙂  i need to add buttons to the front.  She showed me pics of baby props she liked and I improvised on most of the stuff.  This was just some chunky hat she wanted.  She gave me the yarn b/c she loved the color.  Lion Brand Thick and quick. ick. 😀

another baby cocoon. 🙂   This is bigger than the last one I made.  which is good, b/c the last one I made was a bit too small.  I added rounds to the cocoon though as I was decreasing, so that helped alot. 🙂

closed up a bit? sort of opened up

Ok my pics suck.  I’m not too inspired to take any decent pics b/c I would rather use the pics she takes whenever she starts using the props.    it doesn’t help that i’m sleepy right now either and i’m ready for bed 😀 hahahah  but i’ll post those pics up whenever she takes them.   sorry folks.  you have to deal w/ my crappy pics.

hope everyone is having a great week so far and has great weekend plans! 🙂  have a good one!

Thursday Purse-Day!!!

Hi everyone. 🙂  Happy Thursday!

Here is this week’s bag!

Geez.  My garage door needs to be painted or something.   Please ignore it.

This is another fakey fake LV bag.  😀  admire it.  worship it.  it looks sorta real. hahaahahaha.  i like the style the most.  it doesn’t fit RIGHT under my armpit, but an inch or two below that area?  that’s perfect. 😀  but still above the waist.  ahh. bliss. 😀

I did a bit of knitting this week.  I’m back on working on the Haruni. 🙂  it’s moving along nicely now.   no updated pics.  being lazy again.

i did finish a couple of baby hats.

Apparently I’m not done w/ the whole UT Longhorn theme. 🙂  hahaah.  I plan on submitting these to the state fair as well as sell them to my co-worker Kathy so she can give them to her new grandbaby once he is born in October.   So we will see. 🙂

I’ve decided not to do the Leyburn socks in the Madeline Tosh yarn b/c i don’t really like the pattern all THAT much.  I’m not liking the idea of floats on the outside of the sock, so I am currently in search for a new sock pattern or a shawlette pattern that would be perfect for that Tiffany blue color.

I think that’s all i have going for now.  hahah.  it’s been a bit of a busy week at work and i’ve been dealing w/ lots of changes there.  Hopefully great changes. 😀

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Thursday Purse-Day!

Hello everyone.  Happy Thursday!  Just one more day till the weekend!  Anyone have exciting plans?  I do not. hahahaa.  😀  nothing wrong w /a calm quiet weekend, I always say.

Here is this week’s bag!

I went to the mall this week to replace a watch battery.  Did you know it cost like $25 for a watch battery!?!?!?  WTF???  I remember when it used to cost like $5-$10?  I was so shocked.   Anyway, while i was wandering around the mall waiting for them to do that..i wandered into Hot Topic.  sigh.

hk backpack back hk back

Isn’t it cute?  i really fought the urge to get it b/c it’s white and all….but standing there for about 15 min sealed the deal.  sigh.   It’s super cute.  Will I ever use it?  Maybe not.   I’m actually having a bit of buyers’ remorse and I might take it back. 🙂  sigh.

I haven’t sew on any buttons onto my Hey, Teach cardi.  i think i might ending giving it away to a friend that it might fit better than it fits me.  Am I crazy?  Sure.  hahahaa.  I could tell myself that I need to lose 10 lbs to make it fit better.  Is that realistic?  it is.  But who knows.  Sometimes I would rather give it to someone who would appreciate it better than I could.  Ask me later.  I might have changed my mind. 😀

So I’ve been knitting a bit.  I cashed in on all those urges I had last week and I’ve had some successes and failures.

Baby jacket/sweater

My friend Becky at work managed to adopt a baby last week.  Well, she’s in process.  But a baby pretty much fell into her lap.  It’s something we’ve joked about for years, but never imagined would actually happen.  I got the txt about it on Fri, so I had to run up to work just to hug her and gabber with her about it.  If there was anyone more deserving of a child, it’s Becky.   I was high about this for days.  When I saw the pictures of her going home w/ her new son, I just started weeping tears of joy.   So on Fri night I started a cute baby sweater i’ve been wanting to start for a while.  She’s always loved asking me what I was making, what i was working on, etc….always in amazement.  I kept telling ppl at work “OMG i can’t knit fast enough! I had no time to plan/prepare!”  hahah.

Color:  829 Grey

Date Finished:  Jul 29, 2010

I put the jacket on Zoe first and it barely fit.  This project is made for a newborn-6mo baby.  Zoe is a 9 mo size (supposedly).   I put the jacket on Bitty Baby and it was way too big.  But Bitty Baby is like a preemie size.  Shockingly, I have no doll that is an in-between size.

I don’t know what I did, but the jacket didn’t turn out exactly as planned.  the jacket doesn’t meet up in the center.  it’s really off to the side.  It’s still cute, mind you.  haha. just not what I expected.

The construction of the jacket is pretty genious.  I recommend it.

Leyburn socks

As i was rolling up the yarn for this project, my swift freaking broke and all the yarn just collapsed.  So i tried to keep going with the winding…yeah i just ended up w/ a huge mess.  i was getting so pissed off i cut off ONE section to make a gauge swatch.  Lucky for me, my dear friend Mary loves to untangle stuff.  She’s weird huh?  hahahaha.  She untangled it all for me within a day or so of me asking, thank goodness. 😀   The color is really fantastic.

The gauge swatch I made on US 1’s was way too small.  So today I plan on making another gauge swatch on US 2’s or US 3’s.  We’ll see what happens.

Haruni Shawl

I was really pumped up about this project.  I rolled up the yarn (Skacel Merino Lace), cast on and realized the yarn is WAAAAAAAAAAY too thin.   Someone else on rav did it w/ this yarn and doubled the yarn…had more than enough.  So i  split up the yarn and doubled it.  was feeling ok about it until I knit about 20 rows and I realized I HATED how it felt.  I kept going though…but i felt it was lacking.  The yarn didn’t have any kind of sheen.  it felt like ….burlap to me.  So on Sunday, Barb said “If you dont’ like it, rip it out.”   Agreed.  So I did.  I restarted it with Louet Gems and OMG!  it feels sooooo goooood!!!!

I think the rich navy blue color is fantastic too. 😀  So i’m pleased with how it’s turning out so far.  Ask me tomorrow.  I might change my mind by then 😀

i Think that’s all for now.   Texas State Fair entries are due soon.  I’ve decided to enter more than just the baby blanket.   Hey did you know there is a Christmas stocking category?  WHOO HOO!  i might do one just for the fair, or submit the one I made for myself this last year. 😀  Haven’t decided yet.  I think a Santa stocking w/ a big fluffy beard would be nice to submit.  we’ll see.  i’m on a knitting high right now…so i might change my mind.  Do you see a repeating theme here?  hahah

have a great weekend everyone 😀

Thursday Purse-Day! :)

Happy Thursday everyone!   I hope your week has been going well so far.  Just one more day until the weekend. 🙂  yipppee!  actually, not for me.  i work all weekend this weekend.  So boooo! haaha

This week’s bag is a cute one!

Choochoooooo! choo choo caboose! inside :)

This is a gem from P-La!  I think she was clearing out her stash and decided to give these away!  She crazy huh??  I snatched it up right away! WHEEE!  It’s super cute!!

I’ve been a bit of a busy bee this week.   I have a friend at work that is having a baby soon and her shower is on Friday!  Before she got pregnant, she had this long list of things I “needed” to make for her if she were to get pregnant.   I said “sure sure…whatever you want!”   hahaha.  doh!  So last week I realized I had ONE week to work on all the stuffs! EEk!  i got a few things done though. 🙂

Item #1 – Baby Booties

Just grabbed some yarn that was sitting on my desk and I made the booties.  They are extra small and adorable. 🙂

Item #2 – Baby Cocoon

This is something that was on the request list.  We saw it on a baby at work and she made me promise if she ever had another baby that i WOULD make her one.  Most of the time I keep my promises. 😉 hahahaha.  This was a very fast knit.

Item #3 – Baby Crown

I promised one of these to her to her older son like a year ago and never made it.  I figured I would make one for the baby and a matching one for big brother closer to the day so they can match at the hospital together if that’s what she chooses to do. 🙂  It’s a little big.   The first one I ever made was so small it barely fit a preemie baby.  So i increased the sts by 6 sts and it’s a little big, but babies grow. 🙂  they don’t shrink!

So….last Fri i was talking to janice and got a big hair up my butt and decided “I’m dying the blanket TO-NIGHT!!!!!”  I went to Janice’s house and shopped her dye stash.  She let me take home some supplies and some dye.  I decided on Golden Ochre as my color.  That was it.  THis was the decision!!  WHEEEE!

So i get home…and researched HOW i’m going to do this.

I looked up the instructions on how Shipwreck was done b/c I remember P-La did this shawl.  She knit the shawl and then dyed it.

So you just mix the dyes, dump it in a big pot, bring it to a simmer, throw in the shawl/blanket…let it simmer for 30 min until the dye is soaked up and the water is clear…rinse…dry.   Simple right?  Janice already had a batch of dye mixed up, so I used that…then I mixed another batch b/c it wasn’t enough liquid.

As it was simmering..i took a gander at it and I was all “huh.  it’s so dark.  Maybe it will lighten up once it’s rinsed!!!”

Rinsing…it’s still really dark.  but the water is rinsing goldenrod yellow.   “huh.  it’s still so dark.  Maybe it will lighten up once it’s dry!”

It’s dry.  “Huh.  this is really F’ing dark!!!”

Laugh at me.  everyone else did. 🙂

dark blanket obvious

on a good note….it really does cover up the color change in the previous picture. 😀 hahahahah

Ppl say this could be a UT Longhorn blanket.  I’ve had a friend at work offer to buy it from me for her grandson that is due in October and they are UT fanatics.    We’ll see. 😀

I talked about Hey Teach last week and how i was going to use that lavendar colored Cotton Fleece to do it.  I did a gauge swatch and got the same gauge as i did w/ the red yarn!  I was unhappy w/ the choice.  Then janice said “just do a bigger size in the red yarn!  the lavendar color doesnt look good on you.”  she’s so smart.  I dont’ know why that didn’t occur to me.  Maybe b/c I liked saying “I’m making size MEDIUM”. hahahaahh

I just finished the back piece today. 🙂  what do you think of the color?  I LUUUURVES IT!!

Thursday Purse-Day!

Happy Thursday everyone!  I hope those of you up north are keeping cool.  It’s actually hotter there than it is here in Texas.  Whoa. 😀

Did you guys all have a good holiday?  I did nothing.  I slept all day Saturday (WHEE!) and worked on Sunday.  I didn’t go anywhere to see fireworks.  My city has it’s own fireworks show and I just happen to live a half mile away from where the fireworks are shot from.  So I went outside w/ my honey and we just laid back on the grass behind my house and looked up while the fireworks were going off.  It was nice! 😀  calm, non-eventful.   what a great way to celebrate the 4th.   hehehe.

here is this week’s bag!

HP printer bag inside w/ a Canon printer. duhhh

Ignore the fact that I use an HP bag for a Canon printer. 🙂  tee hee.   This is one of those little portable printers used for printing 4×6 photos.   It’s a pretty cool device, and I’m lucky I was able to find a bunch of paper/ink refills for it on clearance at Target a few years ago.  But other than that, it’s an expensive device to use/maintain.  Once I use up my supply of ink/paper, I’m getting rid of it. hahaha.  The bag for it fits it perfectly though!

I said last week i was going to start the Hey, Teach cardi.  I made a gauge swatch w/ the yarn i was going to use (Cascade Ultra Pima), but it’s too small.  The gauge swatch I made wasn’t sufficient.  It took me a week to decide to finally go thru my stash and pick out something I had.  I decided on a lovely lavendar Cotton Fleece. 😀

hey, Teach

Does anyone know what happened to the “PRINT PATTERN” feature on Knitty that they claimed to have installed on their site like a year ago?  I looked up and down for the stupid button and couldn’t find it on this pattern.  I had to copy and paste it and then reformat everything before it was set up to even DECENTLY print!  UGH.  it’s SO annoying!!!!  i hate all the frames b/c the frames copy over into any word processor and i can’t format the pattern into columns to save paper.  BLECH.

I worked on a toy for my friend Nanc’s daughter Evie this week.   Last week I got an email from her saying that Miss Evie had an encounter with a Red Velvet Ant.  What is that you ask??  Some of you know I have this HUGE aversion to bugs, critters, whatever.  The link she sent over made me scream inside as I looked at it. 🙂  hahahaha.   I found an amigurumi pattern for an ant and thought I would dress it up w/ some red fun fur to make it look velvety. 😀  hahaha.    I’m not done w/ the dressing-it-up part…but I figured some pics are better than none!

Here is a photo of the Red Velvet Creature:

I realized that a friend of mine at work is having her baby soon.  Shoot, i’m even helping organize the baby shower for next week.  EEEK! next week.  She did request something specific from me and I need to get crackin’ on it.  She wants a little baby cocoon. 🙂  Those are quick and easy to make.  but I need to get crackin’ on some baby booties and a hat.  I did ONE baby bootie today, but I”m not digging the pattern.  Actually, i think it’s too weird and fussy now that I’ve finished one.   And i’m not sure about the colors with the pattern.  I like the colors…very gender neutral.  but in this pattern i’m not diggin’ it.   one issue I ALWAYS have with most baby bootie patterns is how HUGE they turn out!  This one is really big.  I’m not even bothering posting up a pic of it seamed up b/c it’s just too big and I’m not liking it.  hahaah.  I know a baby can always grow into it, but i love itty bitty cutesy baby booties.  i love how they look so cute and squishy that you just want to eat them!  this isn’t one of those booties. 🙂

not seamed up yet

I revisited another pattern that i did before and i’m going w/ that one in this yarn.  I’ll have pics up later. haaha.

I found out that that stupid poll thing I posted up last week wasn’t working!  It worked fine via mobile phone, but not on computers?  eh!  how stupid!  And I totally forgot to go back and redo it.  So bah.

I’ve decided I want to try dying it in a yellow color.  Gold Ochre from jacquard dyes to be exact.  I want a DEEEEP yellow.  I’ve already asked Janice to hook me up w/ some of her dye stash. 🙂  I hope to have it all done within the next week.

Have a good weekend everyone!

Thursday Purse-Day!

Hi Everyone! 🙂  Happy thursday!  I hope everyone is having a good week so far.   It’s been raining in these parts.  Kind of icky…thank you, Hurricane Alex.  blech!  Anyone have great plans for the holiday weekend?  I do not.  I have to work!  WHEEE!  so I’ll be working on this fine patriotic holiday 🙂

Here is this week’s bag!

a bag fit for a wine-o no wine inside :)

I love built NY bags.  Why do i have this one?  I’m not sure.  I don’t drink wine (well, hardly).  I have a few bottles, but none that i transport.  But apparently these bags are the BOMB for transporting wine for whatever reason you need to carry a bottle w/ you. 🙂  highly recommended.  i got this at  Tuesday Morning for a mere $6.  SCORE!

I finally finished the Lullaby Blanket. 🙂

Hush baby stretched out, not blocked yet blocking obvious

So i’m finally done. 🙂  I barely had enough yarn to finish it.  Thank goodness!  WHEW!  The color “change” is still really obvious after I finished and we all took a gander at it. 🙂   Look at the photo above and you will see what i mean.

I think i have decided to dye the blanket a goldenrod yellow (Thanks, MJ!).  I’ve had some suggestions and I think goldenrod (whatever…a deep yellow) will be the best bet since this isn’t a gender specific baby blanket.   although i don’t see this ever being used for a boy, so maybe I should quit being so stubborn on making it gender neutral and just go for pink?   eh.  I DON”T KNOW!  I do need to have this done within the next 30 days if I want to submit it on time for the state fair.   what do you guys think??  Goldenrod?  Pink?

I’m starting my Hey, Teach cardi today.  I feel like I can finally start some new stuff now that the baby blanket is out of the way. 😀   I have some shawls i’ve been wanting to do too, but those might take me more time to start up.  I’m kind of in the mood to do quick smaller things right now 🙂

everyone have a safe holiday!  Keep cool and stay awesome 🙂  Thanks for stopping by!

Thursday Purse-Day!

Happy Thursday everyone!  I hope your week is going well!

It’s getting hot around these parts.  Hot and windy!  my sinuses are killing me!  I keep feeling so much pressure in that area.  no congestion, no leaky nose…just pain.  ugh.  i hate this time of year so much.

So this week’s “purse” isn’t really a purse.   I think I’m actually at a point where I’m running out of bags!   is that even possible?  how long has it been now?  hahahaha.  Sistahcraft asked me if I had reached 200 bags yet.  I have no idea if I have or not!  She suggested I do a contest to see who can guess.  But your guess is as good as mine!  Honestly, I would just check all my blog posts to see how many I have put on here.  tee hee.

make up case look inside. :) i actually have stuff in there. closer look shows it's got hello kitty imprints. :)

This is a makeup case i got a long time ago.  I’ve got stuff in there, but do I ever use makeup?  hardly.  Well, i take that back.  lately I have been b/c I had a bad breakout on my face in April, so I’m still a bit icky about all the scars on my face now.  ugh.  It sucks being a face picker. 🙂

So I finally did finish something this week that has been plaguing me for a while.

blanket for Rochelle fabric backing do you think it all goes well together? whee! blanket3 i really do love the fabric. I should go back and buy the whole bolt :D

Sorry if the blanket looks a bit wonky.  it’s sometimes hard taking pictures of blankets b/c of how it sticks to the carpet sort of.

So this was a collaborative effort between me and my KFN gals.  We agreed to make a blanket for one of the ppl that works at the Panera we go to every week b/c she was having a baby in Feb.  My plan was to have it all finished by January, but that didn’t happen.  Life gets in the way, i wasn’t able to get all the squares in time by the deadline imposed by’s no big deal.  I had it all put together and the border crocheted around it by the end of January.  What was keeping me so long?  the fabric backing.  I had no idea how to do it.  And I asked Botgurl and Good Girl Purl for help, but we kept forgetting to get together to do it…so here it sat.  Someone reminded me last week that we still hadn’t given the girl the blanket for her baby who is now 3 months old.  Whoops.  So I made it a goal to get it done this week.

The fabric was purchased at Joann’s.  I thought it was reallllllllly cute and matched the yarn really well.  It took me a little while to figure out exactly how to do this.  and it took me a few hours to really map out and plan how to sew this fabric on the back, but I did it! WHEEEE!!   Good Girl Purl advised me on how to tack down the fabric.   Then I showed it to my good friend Mary who is a quilter to ask her how else I could fix the fabric b/c it looked wonky to me and she gave me some wonderful tips.  So it’s done now.  YAY!!!!

I’m almost done w/ the shawl I was making for Dye Day!

15 more rows and a bind off and i’m DONE baby.  Just in time for Saturday!

I’ve been in a bit of a sewing mood lately since i’ve been using my sewing machine so much the last few days.   One of my friends that I grew up w/ had a baby 2 weeks ago.  I have sent nothing for a gift yet.   My mom went to tell her parents congrats at church the other day and told them that i would be sending a gift soon on behalf of our family.  I said “MoM!!  I HAVEN’T even THOUGHT of what I’m going to make yet!!”  her response?  “well, you better hurry up.”  haahahah.  sigh.   I hate to repeat baby gifts, but I’m running out of cute ideas for baby things to make for friends.   plus they live in an area that is hot 11 months out of the year, so I don’t feel like making a sweater/hat/baby booty combo really.  we’ll see.  My mood might change.  ANYWAY, I did manage to make a pair of bibs for them yesterday.   That was the point of my story there…doh. 🙂

I hope she doesn’t hate a western/cowboy theme for this.  I plan on making matching burp cloths to go with it.  sigh.   Maybe a matching hooter hider. 🙂

Have a great weekend, everyone 🙂

ProjectThe Two Summer Sundress
: Berroco Comfort Chunky
Amount Used: 1/2 skein
Color: chocolate
Needle Size:  US 9 / 5.5 mm
Date Started:  May 4, 2010
Date Finished:  May 5, 2010

So i have made 3 of this dress this week.  I finished  last week’s dress on weds night, but I did not check gauge on the pieces I made.  SOOO….the 3 yr old size fits a 1 yr old.  That’s a testament to the importance of getting gauge.   I tried it on Nanc’s wee Evie this weekend and it fit Evie.  She’s almost 16 months old and it fit her.  DOH!  So the 6 yr old dress probably fits a 3 yr old.  Doh again!

I made the brown dress in a chunky yarn to get gauge and made it for a size between 18 months and 2 yrs old.  We’ll see if it fits the intended child.   The fabric is what sold me and I had to made a brown top for it.  I love 70’s looking fabric right now. 😀

And because I think she is so stinkin’ cute and the dress looks so cute on her..i have to show a pic of little Evie wearing the dress. 🙂

Doesn’t she just make you want to hug and kiss her? 🙂

I’m still working on my shawl.  I want it ready by next week so I can dye it!   it’s a really easy lace pattern and it’s not complicated, but it’s still very pretty 😀  I can’t wait to finish it.  I dont know what colors I want to dye it and i need to hurry up and decide.  I dont want to have to do a do-over!

have a great weekend, everyone. 🙂
