Thursday Purse-Day!
25th February 2010
Happy Thursday everyone! :) I hope everyone has had a good week so far!
here is this week’s bag!
I LOVE THIS BAG!! i went looking for a new camera flash this week (didn’t buy one though….too expensive!) and i found this bag and i just had to have it. I love patent leather bags. I love bowler bags! i love bowling shoes too…but i don’t love to bowl. go figure. but i just had to have it!
I got a few things done this week. I’ve been in a small-project roll and been cranking them out a bit.
Project: Hat with Crochet band (rav link)
Yarn: GGH Samoa
Amount Used: 1.5 skeins
Color: 113
Hook and Needle Size: H - 5.0 mm, US 8 needles
Date Started: Nov 9, 2009
Date Finished: Feb 20, 2010
So it didn’t take me months and months to finish this. It took me months and months to get back to that yarn store to get this yarn in the same color. What i SHOULD have done is just redone it in a diff. yarn! hahahaa. i did an extra 6 rows to make it long enough to cover my ears. The pattern is really hard to read and understand b/c how you do the crochet band isn’t clear. I had to rely very heavily on the pictures provided to figure it out.
I made a little baby set too.
Project: Oh! Baby Baby Booties (rav link)
Yarn: Premier Yarns Serenity Garden Yarn
Amount Used: <1 skein
Color: 15 roses
Needle Size: US 3 / 3.25 mm
Date Started: Feb 19, 2010
Date Finished: Feb 19, 2010
I have some issues w/ how the top of the booties were made…but those are MY issues. :) It took me like 2 hours to do these booties.
Matching hat:
Project: basic baby hat (i winged it)
Yarn: Premier Yarns Serenity Garden Yarn
Amount Used: <1 skein
Color: 15 roses
Needle Size: US 4 / 3.5 mm
Date Started: Feb 22, 2010
Date Finished: Feb 22, 2010
I love how the hat came out. I love this yarn!!!! the colors really POP! I just made a basic baby hat casting on 88 sts, knitting until i had about 4″ and then doing decreases. now…here again is another example of how I screw things up b/c i gloss over things. I cast on 98 sts thinking it was 88. i didn’t count after i cast on. and I didn’t realize I had done this until after I knit 4″ and was trying to do the decreases and the math wasn’t working out right. DUH. so the hat is larger than I wanted it to be. But baby can always grow into it.

still working on the Dianna shawl and working on a new pair of go-lightly gloves for a gift to someone who is a little bit of a hero to me. :) On the Dianna shawl? yeah….i did another one of those extra square screw ups and didn’t realize it until I got to the end of the tier. sigh. I dont know what’s wrong w/ my brain lately!!
Hope everyone has a great weekend.
