Thursday Purse-Day!
21st January 2010
Hello friends! I hope all is well in your worlds! Thanks to all for the well wishes. i’m feeling much much much better. Still a little congested, but nothing terrible. People quit asking me “what’s wrong w/ you?” a few days ago. :) I love my acupuncturist. She helped me feel so much better!
Here is this week’s bag!
Keeping on w/ my cleaning promise, i was going thru some boxes in my garage and I found this bag. :) It’s a tad bit dirty (my apologies) but it’s just so cute! Isn’t it happy and makes you want to smile?? :) Kitty having a spot of tea. hahaha. I looked inside and i found something funny inside: an UNFINISHED Clapotis! This was the first one i was working on! I was making it out of sock yarn…and i just never finished it. I should finish it huh? Or I can rip it out and make a different shawl with it? hmm….what should i do?
I’m still working on my Danish tie shawl. I’m about halfway finished. It’s getting TERRRRIBLY boring to work on. But i’m almost to the part where I work on the wavy edging. I can’t wait. I get alot of compliments on my yarn choice. Malabrigo lace weight is da bomb diggity. It feels so buttery and SOFT!!!
I did get my butt in gear and finished some UFO’s this week. I worked on some crochet mermaids almost a year ago. I promised them to my friend’s daughters. I “finished” the little one in Feb of 2009 (almost a year ago). I shouldn’t have claimed it as an FO…but at the time I thought i was done. Then my friend said she didn’t want a topless mermaid for her daughter. hahaah. so i kept swearing I would make it a seashell bra. I didn’t want to make one for some reason. I fought it. for a long time.
I was to see these friends in July and I had to miss the trip for various reasons. So there the mermaids sat.
Christmas of this year I had a box ready to ship to them with some Christmas presents and other things that I had promised my friend. Then her daughter asked her mother “Mommy…did Auntie Jen forget my mermaid?” OH CRAP. talk about GUILT!!! So I made her arms and made her bikini top. I’m ready to mail them both off tomorrow w/ their very delayed Christmas presents. It’s all good. Me sending them late Christmas presents just make Christmas extend for them right? hAHAHAH.
So the purple mermaid (Jeijei - big sister in Cantonese) didn’t come out AS cute as the little blue mermaid (Moymoy - little sister in Cantonese). I think it’s b/c i didn’t stuff the head as well. bah. oh well. too late now! and I didn’t do the embroidery scales on Jeijei b/c i’m being horribly lazy and can’t find my purple thread. I also chose to use starfish buttons for her hair for a little sparkle.
I’m a bit relieved that these are done. They have been hanging over my head for almost a year now. doh.
