Hi all.
I’ve had a doozy of a week so far. I just shipped my parents back off to ELP. I miss them alot, but i’m kind of relieved. They drive me crazy! hahaha.
I went to see my cousin Helen in OKC and she’s doing really well in her situation. She’s smiling, laughing, eating really well…she’s an inspiration to me. she’s a strong little girl. and i should only hope to be half as strong as her. She did like her get-well bunny. that made me all warm inside. But she did have another surgery on Tues morning/afternoon. So during that time, my mom and i got some breakfast at this place that had pork chops and eggs for $3.99! how is that even possible?! hahaha. then this place just happened to be across the street from SWAK in the City! WHOOO HOOOO!!!
I didn’t score much of a haul b/c my mom was there looking around and then asking how much I was spending. so i only got a little bit. i got some koigu. My instinct was to run in, GRAB as much Koigu as I could and run away cackling. Yeah…i got FOUR little skeins. and i got one skein of Jawoll Cotton. oh and some Bryspun circs b/c i’m kooky like that. i’m so ashamed of myself. hahahaha! Oh and if you spend $75 there, you get a free bag! so i asked (OF COURSE) about the bag..and the lady goes “Oh you might have that.” then my mom is all “WHAT? YOU DO? HOWWWWW??” i went over. i got the free bag. then my mom is jabbering at me in Chinese about “OMG how can 6 items cost SO MUCH??” sigh. then i said “It’s designer, fancy stuff, Ma.” she goes “I guess. Well, I guess no one wants to knit nice things w/ PLASTIC!” how she knew that, I have no idea.
hahahaha.
ENOUGH TALKING! PICTURES!!
See like i said….SAD!!
Thanks to everyone for your prayers for my cousin. She is doing much better but we haven’t heard about what has been decided on treatment for what is remaining. She had another surgery on Tues to insert a shunt into her head for drainage. My cousins and their parents are amazingly strong right now. I did give her the bunny. she seemed to have liked it. that made me all warm inside!
I don’t normally like to post pics of the family and of kids b/c i’m not sure how the parents will react. and many other reasons. So i’m putting the dark bar in front of her eyes.

THis was taken right after she got out of surgery yesterday. she’s got a reverse mohawk thing going on. i think it’s going to take over the fashion world.
I didn’t do any knitting/crocheting since Monday because I have done nothing but drive since monday!! i’m starting to have withdrawls.

I wrote on my last post about my little cousin Helen who has cancer. Well, my parents on are their way on a bus to come to me and then i’m driving their happy butts to OKC to see Helen. I’m scared and nervous. I’m scared my uncle is going to not want us to go. I’m scared my parents will overreact and scare poor Helen worse than she is scared. but i’m hoping for the best. I want to give my uncle and aunt support.
I did manage to finish her get-well bunny.
I made her a little dress too!

Project: Amigurumi Bunny by MMM-Fruit.com
Yarn: Lion Brand Cotton-Ease
Amount Used: maybe half a skein?
Color: 830-099 Almond
Hook Size: G (4.00mm)
Date Started: July 11, 2008
Date Finished: July 13, 2008
There was no pattern for the dress. i just fudged it. don’t ask me what I did. hahaha! I took NO NOTES!!
I actually had some downtime during my short time in Houston this weekend. My brother and I attended a friend’s wedding and it was like a mini reunion for us EPCBC peeps. it was nice. but we didn’t feel too much like mingling and answering the same questions over and over again:
- “where are you working now? Oh same place as before? Where was that? I forgot.
- where are you living now? oh! same area huh? Oh you bought a house? I DIDN”T HEAR ABOUT THIS????
- are you dating anyone? What? no? why not? have you tried eharmony.com?”
- So where are your parents? WHAT? they didnt’ want to come to the wedding?? why not? they never go to weddings? REALLY?
yeah we both get pelted w/ the same questions from the same people who don’t really listen to our answers most of the time. we were kind of dreading it, so we just hung out by ourselves and chilled out in our hotel room most of the time. it was nice to just attend a wedding for a change and not be all in the wedding party or behind-the-scenes. hahaha. anyway…i managed to finish up the last remaining bunny ear, stuff the bunny, and crochet it a little dress over the busy weekend while my brother stared at the tv w/ the constant channel flipping.
so i got back from houston late this afternoon, met up w/ the Simpatico girls to knit and complain and then i cleaned up my house and car a bit.
i do plan on trying to hit up a yarn shop while im in OKC. hahah is that bad? that’s not my primary reason for going!!
but i’ll be back on tues. so not much damage can be done.

Hi everyone!
You guys thought I forgot to post huh? muahaha! well, i fell asleep last night very early and didn’t post before I fell asleep.
So the bag of the week this!

Isn’t it cute?? I got this HUGE bag at Borders! if you buy 3 books (any price!) you get this bag for $9.99! WHHHHOOOOO!! it’s HUGE!
So what’s going down on the knitting front? I finished the hemlock shawl. the bind-off was horrid. I don’t know how I did it the first time. half way thru, i opted to do the crochet bind off. LEMME TELL YA……WAAAY easier!! it’s faster and BETTER!! Where is the photo you say? I’m having issues w/ blocking it. so i’m letting it rest. I’m not going to take it to the wedding to wear. why? I’m going to a wedding in Houston. there is no need for clothes, let alone a shawl. i hate houston in the summer. HOT, STICKY…DISGUSTING. why am i going? b/c I’ve known the bride since we were itty bitty.
hehehehe.
What else have I been working on? Baby stuffs.
Aren’t these so cuuuute? I want to eat them.
So there is a new baby to add to the mix. I found last week and i’m deliriously happy for this new baby!! No word on what gender is b/c it’s still too soon. But my list now also includes my cousin who had a baby on Tues. She had a boy. no rush on a gift. i can wait till fall when i go out there for a visit.
but this year seems to be the year for boys. I’ve got 4 boys (so far), 1 girl and 1 gender neutral child.
hahahahaa.
Project: Mary Jane Skimmers (ravelry link)
Yarn: Lion Brand Cotton-Ease
Amount Used: 1/4 skein of each color?
Color: Berry and Banana
Hook Size: 3.50 mm
Date Started: July 8, 2008
Date Finished: July 9, 2008
I’m also working on another get-well bunny for my cousin. I found out last week my cousin had a brain tumor. She’s 6 yrs old. So they took out the tumor. It was the size of a lemon. then they did another MRI scan on her. Found another tumor 20% the size of the first one. They didn’t see it. so she had surgery again on Weds to take it out. She’s doing well. she’s watching tv and drinking juice and talking. Well, there was another doc that reviewed the first scan and he said the cancer has spread to her spine. i think she desperately needs a get well bunny. Please keep her in your prayers.
and thanks to all of you who have been praying.

Helllooo EVERYONE!
it’s been a crazy week! here’s the day for another bag!

i got this gem at the Sanrio store during a 50% off 50% off sale. I LOVE THOSE SALES! i really LOADED UP! the sales lady almost convinced me to buy TWO. but i never ever travel that heavy, so i had to walk away from TWO. but i did buy ONE. this bag was originally $200, but i got it for $35. WHOOOO HOOOOOO. that’s cheap even for a SUITCASE. well, depends on how you look at it.
So remember the February Sweater i made a couple of months ago? I didn’t finish it in time for the shower. So I said I was going to wait until baby was born to give it. Baby was born yesterday.
She’s very large and very cute. She looks like her daddy. Poor baby. hahahaah
But anyway, when I gifted the sweater w/ another item…she opened the bag and goes “OH YES, JENNIFER. I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!” that made me happy

Project: EZ February Sweater (ravelry link)
Yarn: Classic Elite Flash (prints)
Amount Used: 3-4 skeins
Color: 6166: Banana
Needle Size: US 5
Date Started: April 18, 2008
Date Finished: April 27, 2008
I would have finished it so much faster if I hadn’t been moving into my house that week.
hahaah! I still want to make a matching hat. I put that on the back burner and now the freaggin’ baby is here. hahahaha.
I’ve also been addicted to Bootie Making. Lemme tell you…this Lion Brand Cotton-Ease is DA BOMB for baby booties!!

Another little boy will be born in Nov/Dec I found out yesterday. It seems like this fall I have 2 boys and 2 girls due.
Project: Little Button Loafers (ravelry link)
Yarn: Lion Brand Cotton-Ease
Amount Used: 1/6 skein of each color?
Color: Taupe 830-122 and Lake 830-110
Hook Size: 3.50 mm
Date Started: JUne 29 2008
Date Finished: July 3, 2008
I’m still trying to work out the math on my hemlock ring shawl that i revisited last week.
the math isn’t working out right and i’m getting pretty pissed off. haahhaaha. actually, i take that back. it works up until the last repeat of stitches then i’m off by like NINE stitches. NINE. if it was ONE…fuggetaboutit. but NINE!?!??! AAAAAAAAAAACK!
i want to have this done by next weds so i can block it and wear it to my friend’s wedding. i think i can do it if i quit getting mad when the last panel doesn’t work out right.

26th June 2008
hey everyone! It’s Thursday! Time for another bag!!

Another Hello Kitty bag. last month I did a Hello Kitty run and i found a bunch of bags at great deals! Who am i to resist?? hahahaa. this is yet another great sock bag…or a baby bootie bag!
So speaking of baby booties…i’ve been a baby bootie factory this week.
I have come to the conclusion that crocheting baby booties is way better than knitting them. they have more structure, they are quicker and they come in a greater variety of styles. hahaha.
In the last month, I have found out that i have 5 sets of friends that are pregnant and due late nov/early Dec. ALL OF THEM. So i have taken the advice of my friend Bot and I’m going to start stock piling baby gifts so i am not overwhelmed when these babies are all born.

Project: Baby Moccasin Booties (ravelry link)
Yarn: Patons Classic Wool
Amount Used: 1/4 skein of each color?
Color: 77414 Rosewood and 00231 Chestnut brown
Hook Size: 3.50 mm
Date Started: JUne 21 2008
Date Finished: June 21, 2008

Project: Little Button Loafers (ravelry link)
Yarn: Lion Brand Wool-Ease
Amount Used: 1/4 skeins per color
Color: 620-402 Wheat and 620-403 Mushroom
Hook Size: 3.50 mm
Date Started: May 16, 2007
Date Finished: May 17, 2007
I had alot of fun doing these booties. I spent some nice evenings on my couch just watching tv and crocheting. very nice.
And i’ve gotten some gifts out of the way .tee eheee
Remember this project?? I haven’t worked on it since October! I pulled it out of hiding this last week and I am trying to work on it again. Problem? I remember where i stopped, but the math doesn’t work. so i have to tink back a few rows and then figure it all out again. GRRRR>..but i want to have it finished by July 9th. I want to have it blocked and ready so I can wear it to a wedding and dazzle people. HAAHAHAHAH! so wish me luck.

HEllo everyone!! it’s Thursday! Time for another bag!!!
Is’nt this cute? I couldn’t resist since it was half off half off!
It’s the perfect sock bag!
SOOOO..i finally finished the bridal shower cami.

I got lazy and didn’t feel like doing I-cord for the straps. So i used the ribbon to make the straps. tee -hee. I so smart!
Project: Lace Nightie (direct PDF download)
Yarn: Berroco Seduce
Amount Used: 3 1/2 skeins
Color: 4445 - Cinnabar Lacquer

Date Started: May 28, 2008

I”m cutting it close and mailing it off tomorrow! WHOO HOOO!! i can’t wait to see if she likes it or if it makes ppl laugh at the shower.
Thanks to everyone for the bday wishes!!
I didn’t do anything on my bday except the normal daily stuff. I did get some cake at work which was nice.
but it was a very calm, tame bday at home. it was nice! but on weds night, my buds from Simpatico took me out to Papaya Garden so we could get excited over carrots cut into little shapes and get really excited over mango and coconut rice. mm. mm.
I’m working on crochet baby shoes again right now. I’m in a crochet state of mind. *giggle* i got a couple of new really cute patterns today for crochet baby shoes. I’m also working on an amigurumi Hello Kitty. Almost done w/ that!

17th June 2008
My normal schedule consists of:
- going to be around 2-3a (WHY? i have no idea. actually i do but that is another story)
- I set my alarm for an ambitious 645a.
- I hit snooze for 80 min.
- at 805a (If i’m lucky) i will jump up and curse myself for hitting snooze for 80 min
- take my quick 10 min morning shower
- get ready
- feed the cat
- eat some oatmeal
- get where I need to be by 9a
a very very normal schedule consists of me sitting up at 820a screaming AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!
hehehe.
So why today…did i just sit up at 645a and just get up? I had no mad desire to lay back down and sleep some more. i just got up, turned off the alarm clock, fed the cat and was thinking “now what?”
I went to bed around 2a like normal. Even the cat was confused as to why i’m up.
I know i’m not excited today. But it is my birthday today.
Is this what happens as you get older? is 31 the year that i change? hAHAHA
i took a weird picture of myself when i got up for laughs b/c i wanted to see if i had sleep creases all in my face (it was a thought that ran through my head as i was waking up). I guess it’s funny. I never post pics of myself on here for various reasons: i’m not hot, i have a horrible double chin. but maybe i should lighten up and laugh a bit at myself. please ignore all the spots on my face
yes that is my bed hair. it’s actually tame today. Usually my hair is like UP and crazy. no matter where/when/how i sleep, i get horrrible bed hair. If i’m sitting at my doctor’s office and i fall asleep in the waiting room (It happens alot), sitting up, slumped FORWARD, i will still get bed hair even though my head is not touching anything.
you can find funny things when you do a search on flickr for “31″. I liked this mosaic. i thought it was cute. i especially love the Baskin Robbins 31 flavors sign. Does that mean i get to eat one of each of the 31 flavors today?
Did you know that you can get a plethora of free things from restaurants on your bday? My friend’s doctor husband gave me a list of cool things I can get! when all the coupons came pouring into my email the other day, i actually got a little too excited.
On the knitting front: I finished the lingerie top. Well, i have 2 more i-cords to knit and that’s it. And it needs to be blocked. but the hard stuff is done. I will completely finish it TODAY.

12th June 2008
HELLO EVERYONE! it’s a special purse day today!
I went to my mailbox today and there was a big box inside. What was awaiting for me? My friend Steph and family sent me an early bday present!
She’s really done it this time. This is one of the cutest bags I have! THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! You’re too good to me!!!
WHat have I been working on? I just found out tonight that the lingerie set I was working on has to be finished by Weds night…b/c i need to mail it by THURSDAY! ACK!!!!!!!! i thought i had one more week after that! EEEK! but here is what i have so far…

If i don’t finish this in time (I MUST), at least I have the other piece to laugh at
On Sunday, Shelly helped me get going w/ my CSM machine. HALLEUJAH! IT WORKS!! i was concentrating so hard into everything i FORGOT TO TAKE PICTURES! something must be wrong with me!
She got me going and i made TWO tubes:
Doesn’t look like much, but this is a huge accomplishment for me. YAY!
I had a horribly busy week and haven’t had the time to sit down and crank some more tubes out since Sunday. I can’t wait to get crankin’ again though!! GRRRR!
BUTTTT…THANK YOU SHELLY for letting me take away your whole Sunday afternoon! you were fantastic! and a HUGE help!! thank you thank you thank you!!
On Friday I got invited to see THE CURE with some of my knit grrls.
I have to say..the show was awesome. ENcore after encore!! it was nuts! and they sang so many old goodies.
it was so worth it since the tickets were given to us! FREE SHOW?? AWESOMEEEEEEEE
Oh yes! Remember the bunnies?
(if you don’t, here is a reminder…)

They were a big big hit! Little Miss Amber got her bunny and loved it (so her daddy said). He said she won’t let go of it. That makes me so warm and fuzzy inside!! and the Robby Rabbit, i gave to his mama at work on Sunday and she squealed when i gave it to her. I don’t know how her son liked it. I’ll find out this weekend at work.

Hey everyone! it’s another Thursday and it’s time for another purse!
I found this bag when I was doing that Hello Kitty run 2 weekends ago.

It could easily be a bento lunch bag, or a knitting project bag.

It’s so cute! w/ the little piggies all over it!!What have I been up to this week? The Get Well bunny was a huge hit! A co-worker at work asked if I could make one for her son. So i did.
